WHO YOU ARE
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to work from our Overland Park, KS office. This role will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, completeness, and strategic insight of power recovery financials across the portfolio. This role is responsible for analyzing recovery performance, supporting monthly financial cycles, and partnering cross‑functionally to enhance power billing processes and reporting. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting, this highly visible role will provide deep financial expertise while helping advance automation, power billing accuracy, and site-level reporting improvements.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Analyze monthly power recovery percentages at the site, building, and customer level to identify variances, trends, and root causes
Review utility invoices and recovery charges to validate accuracy and completeness
Maintain and enhance power recovery reporting, including dashboards, trend analyses, and site-level KPI monitoring
Support new reporting requirements, including variance explanations and invoice lag analysis
Investigate power billing exceptions such as unexpected swings in recovery percentages, missing usage data, or irregular customer metering behavior
Partner with Operations, DCIM/engineering, and Data Integrity teams to address issues such as equipment monitoring gaps, stale data, or space-level discrepancies
Perform monthly analyses supporting power billing cycle workflows, validation of metered usage, and reconciliation of utility consumption to customer allocation.
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and variance explanations as required
Support Asset Management, Site Accounting, and Financial Operations with recurring and ad hoc reporting
Participate in monthly financial reviews requiring commentary on recovery variances and customer-specific issues
Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives to improve billing accuracy and accelerate cash collections.
Assist in developing and delivering training to operations and finance teams on recovery metrics, P&L impacts, and billing workflows
Provide support for the annual internal and external audits
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPA.
Three or more years of experience in the accounting/financial reporting areas.
Experience in public accounting at a Big 4 firm.
MBA, or graduate finance related degree.
Workday, Microsoft Great Plains or other large ERP systems experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
A strategic thinker with an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial processes.
Professional agility.
Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with automated accounting systems.
Must have the ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrate willingness to partner across internal departments.
